Charles Hayden Byrd, 65, of Poteau, OK, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2008, in Ft. Smith, AR. He was born Aparil 25, 1943, in Fillmore, CA, to Lenza William and Elsie Marie (Pendergrass) Byrd. Hayden loved to build, cook and fish. He was a member of the Panama Church of Christ.
He is preceded in death by his parents; four grandchildren, Raven, Skyla, Ashley and Hunter; a brother Bobby Byrd
He is survived by his wife Linda, of the home; a son Donnie Byrd of Poteau, OK; six daughters, Kathy of CA, LaBamba Battles of Poteau, OK, Patty Smith of Shady Point, OK, Karen Perry of Panama, OK, Nova Noah of Dayton, TX and Pamela and Brantley Feemster of Poteau, OK; two brothers, Larry Byrd of Spiro, OK, Billy and Glenda Byrd of CA; three sisters, Norma & Jack Wilkinson of Spiro, OK, Brenda & Donny Jones of Howe, OK, Linda Clark of Clarksville, TX; twelve grandchildren, Rick Fowler, Trina Armstrong, Adam Smith, Justin Reed, Stephen Perry, Chris Smith, Stefanie Byrd, Tyler Reed, Doug Byrd, Jesse Smith, Elisha Choate, Dawson Choate; two great grandchildren, Bryce Armstrong and Jerick Hayden Fowler; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other friends, family members and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Doug Byrd, Adam Smith, Rick Fowler, Chris Smith, James Broughton, Tyler Reed, Charles Burk and Justin Reed.
Service will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, November 17, 2008, at Poteau Church of Christ on hwy 112 with burial following service at Greenhill Cemetery, Cameron, OK, with Pastor Jim Dewbre officiating. Family will greet friends from 2:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday, November 16, at Grace Manor Funeral Home. Services under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home, Poteau, Oklahoma.
