Vickie Carol “Nana” Goodin, 50, of Dardanelle, AR, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2008, in Dardanelle. She was born June 19, 1958 in Shawnee, OK to Levi and Joyce Shankle. She married the love of her life Rick Goodin on July 2, 1976. Together they had three children and eight grandchildren. Vickie loved bridge mix, crocheting afghans and Care Bears for the grandkids, stopping by strangers homes and asking to see the inside of their house with culprit Shirley Hess. She loved shopping and staying out too late. She could pack and unpack a house like a pro. She would keep all eight grandkids at the same time and deny that she would get stressed. She loved her blue Z28 Camaro and would not buy a car if it wasn’t a five speed. She loved gossip about people she hadn’t seen in years, she was referred to as “Nana Crazy” in the Hawkins household. She loved walking in a cemetery, of all places. She’d get lost, even with a GPS, and as her grandson Tre would tell you, she didn’t like curvy roads. She only had a couple of good friends but her longest life-time friend was someone who she said would love her unconditionally. She loved games, guacamole dip, and hot chocolate, in fact anything chocolate. Over the past ten years she has known nothing but spoiling her grandkids, defying rules from the son-in-law, who would say, “Vickie, NO JUNK FOOD!” She loved Barbies, movies, Dr. Pepper, hearing her kids sing and preach. She was a blond but wanted to be a red head. She was stubborn, so she should have probably been one. She is preceded in death by her parents. Vickie is survived by her husband of 32 years, Rick Goodin; a son Rickie Lee Goodin and wife Amanda, their children Abby and Jacob, of Moore, OK; two daughter Faith Hawkins and husband Chris, their children Kyla, Chloe and Sophie, of Shawnee, OK, Franci Harper and husband Mack, their children Juliana, Tre and Seth, of Dardanelle, AR, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members friends and loved ones. Pallbearers will be Chris Hawkins, Mack Harper, Orville Hess, Nick Hess, J.D. Hess, Ollie LaGrande. Services will be held at 9:30 AM, Monday, December 7, 2008, at Shepherd’s Heart, Poteau, OK, with Rev. Clyde Hess and Rev. Dennis Stone officiating. Interment will follow service at the Vaughn Cemetery, Gilmore, OK. The family will greet friends from Sunday afternoon from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at Grace Manor Funeral Home.
