Jessie Kathleen Hamby, 76, of Spiro, OK, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2008, in Spiro. She was born February 17, 1932, to J.O. and Jessie Goff at Nubbin Ridge, OK. She was a certified nursing assistant retired from Spiro Nursing Home and a member of Lakeview Baptist Church, Spiro, OK.
She is preceded in death by her husband Andrew Lee Hamby and four grandchildren, Geary Edward Hamby, Charles Wayne Hamby, Jimmy Lee Martin and Andrew Don Honeycutt.
Kathleen is survived by a son, Geary and wife Sue Hamby of Spiro; three daughters, Kathy Diane Hamby of Spiro, Pansey Kay and husband James Martin of Sallisaw, Mary Sue and husband Benny Perry of Panama, a brother James Ray and wife Ann Goff of Claremore; three sisters Dorothy Middleton of Poteau, Thena Fay and husband Don Garrett of Cowlington and Erma and husband Layne Wright of Stroud; three grandchildren Larry Wayne Hamby, David Lee Honeycutt and Amy Lashel Perry; seven great grandchildren Jorden Smith, Chase Hamby, Dakota Hamby, Bryson Lee Cropsey, McKayla Honeycutt, Jason Honeycutt and Josh Honeycutt; one great-great grandchild Wesson Allen Smith, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family members friends and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Greg Smith, Jordan Smith, David Honeycutt, Benny Perry, Frankie Hamby and Tommy Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be Dakota and Chase Hamby and Brian Daniel.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 3, 2009, at Southside House of Worship, Spiro, OK, with Bro. Eddie Blankenship and Bro. O.M. Wilson officiating. Interment will follow service at New Hope Cemetery, Spiro, OK. Services are under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home of Poteau.
