Owen Edwin Farrar, 89, of Cameron, OK, passed away Friday, January 16, 2009, in Cameron, OK. He was born May 15, 1919, in Cameron, OK to Troy and Beulah Belle (Ballard) Farrar. Owen married Mary Elizabeth Mooneyham on December 23, 1939, in Midland, AR. He was self-employed and owned many businesses over the years such as filling station, grocery store, and a restaurant. He also drove a Cameron school bus for sixteen years. Owen has been a member of the Liberty Hill Baptist Church since the 1940’s.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth of the home; a son Charles “Sonny” and wife Mary Ruth Farrar of Cameron, OK; a daughter Ann (Farrar) Woods of Shawnee, OK; four grandchildren, Angie and Mike Carter of Cameron, John and Deana Woods of Meeker, OK, Roxanne Woods of San Antonio, TX and Connie and Sean Horton of Cameron; six great grandchildren, Emilly Woods, Zachary Carter, Rachel Woods, Ryan Carter, Bria Horton and Lexi Carter; sister-in-law Doris Farrar of Ft. Smith; nephew Andy Farrar of Lavacca, AR and niece Joan Farrar of Ft. Smith, as well as numerous other friends, family members and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Danny Rogers, Johnny Farrar, Paul DuBois, Charles Hollingsworth, Larry Sockey and Clay Rogers. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike carter, Sean Horton, Levi Easton, Sherman York and Kenneth House.
Services will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 19, 2009, at the Liberty Hill Baptist Church, Cameron, OK, with Bro. Travis Cook and Bro. Jackie Edwards officiating funeral service.
