Mary F. “Betty” Heavener, 67, of Poteau, OK, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2009, in Poteau, OK. She was born August 21, 1941, at Poteau, OK, to Roy and Martha (Barnes) Gullick. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
She was preceded in death her parents,her first husband Bobby Joe Heavener; a daughter Mary Lisa Heavener; two brothers, Roy Gullick and James Ray Gullick and three sisters Florence Payne, Suzie Pennington and Rita Stine.
Betty is survived by her husband Jim Miller of Poteau; two sons, David Joe and wife Sharon Heavener of Spiro, OK, Bobby and wife Shelly Heavener of Wister, OK; two daughters, Sandra and husband Preston Craine of Springdale AR, Julie and husband Salomon Banuelos of Poteau, OK; two brothers, Benny and wife Ruby “Chub” Gullick of Poteau,OK, Larry “Joe” Gullick of Wister,OK; one sister, Freda Wood of Poteau,OK; eight grandchildren, Joseph Heavener, Joshua Heavener, Ericka Miller, Shiann Heavener, Marissa Heavener, Bobby Joe Heavener, Brandon Heavener and Mary Craine; three great-grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Heavener, Stormie Heavener and Jeremiah Heavener; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, friends and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Joe Heavener, Brandon P. Heavener, Joseph P. Heavener, Billy D. Gullick, Benny L. Gullick and Michael Woods. Honorary Pallbearers will be Danny Gullick and Dennis Gullick.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 6, 2009, at Grace Manor Memorial Chapel in Poteau, OK, with Brother Sonny Daniels and Brother Don Benefield officiating. Interment will follow service at Oakland Cemetery, Poteau, OK. Services are under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home of Poteau.
