Edna Ruth Dulock, 86, of Poteau, OK, passed away February 9, 2009, in Ft. Smith, AR. She was born August 1, 1922, in Rocky, Arkansas, to John B. and Ellie (Head) Shepherd. She was a retired Federal Court Reporter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ben Joe Dulock and a brother John B. Shepherd, Jr.
Edna Ruth is survived three sisters, Nyla Shepherd of Ft. Smith, AR, Jeanne Brantley of Alamogordo, NM, and Bettye Rice of Heavener, OK; sister-in-law Betty Shepherd; a special niece and caregiver Nadalyn Jaeger of Poteau, OK, and other nieces Yvonne Wilson-Ramos, Judy Harris, Sue Riley, Nancy Java, Helen Wilson-Lacy; nephews Hugh Rice, Darrell Brantley, Gerald Brantley, Hank Shepherd and Timothy O’Carr, and Charles “Bill” Wilson; numerous step nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews; as well as a host of other family members, friends and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Hugh Rice, Lloyd Jaeger, Wesley Jaeger, Hank Shepherd, Eric Gunlock, Randy Harland, Jim Rogodzinski and Heath Lovitt.
Honorary pallbearers are Timothy O’Carr and Tito Ramos.
Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, February 13, 2009, at the Immanuel Baptist Church, Poteau, OK, with Pastors Brian Fields and Bro. Rick Snyder officiating. Interment will be held Monday Feb. 16 at Highland Memorial Gardens in Terrell, Texas. The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday evening to celebrate Ruth’s life.
