Johnny Thomas, 84, of Howe, OK, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2009, in his home. He was born August 31, 1924, in Mt. Pleasant, OK, to Walter and Ethel (Vaughn) Thomas. Johnny married Betty Nobles, on April 23, 1947 in Arkansas. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in WWII. He was a retired business owner a member of the First Baptist Church of Heavener, OK. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, W.G. and Bill Thomas. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty, and a special great-granddaughter Nichole Gilstrap, both of the home; four daughters, Margaret Dixon and husband Vaughn of Corona, CA, Glenda Welty and husband Jerry of Heavener, OK, Diane Booher and husband Glynn of Vanita, OK, Rebecca Thomas of Heavener, OK; a sister Christine Douglas of CO; eight grandchildren, Andria, Christopher, Natalie, Jorge, Michelle, Eric, Jessica, Emily; ten great grandchildren, as well as numerous other friends, family members and loved ones. Services will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at the First Baptist Church, Heavener, OK, with Bro. Sam Dyer officiating. Interment will follow at 1:00 PM at the National Cemetery, Ft.
