Richard W. McQuain, 55, of Shady Point, OK, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2009, in Ft. Smith, AR. He was born July 26, 1953 in Bristow, OK, to William “Bill” McQuain and Mary Lou (Starrett) Wells. Richard married Rhonda Rodebush on February 23, 1979, in Drumright, OK. He was an office manager for Wells Enterprises and a teacher for Royal Rangers. He was member of Harvest Hill Assembly of God Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Rhonda of the home, a daughter, Summer Waite and husband Rich of Lasby, MD; four brothers, Joe Wells of Broken Arrow, OK, Reggie Wells, Henry Wells, Conby Wells all of Shady Point, OK; a sister Cindy Scott of Sugarloaf Lake, AR; three grandchildren, Richard Kaleb Waite, Olivia Paige Waite and Willliam David Waite; step dad Paul Henry Wells of Shady Point; step mother Erlene McQuain of Cleveland, OK; mother and father-in-law Darla and Eldon Rodebush of Drumright, OK; and a host of friends, family members and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Hal Gullick, Dennis Hope, Doug Barkley, Tim Pearson, Derrail Roland and Kurt Hope.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, May 16, 2009, at Harvest Hill Assembly of God Church in Spiro with Pastor Mike Bunch and Rev. Joe Powers officiating. Interment will follow service at Shady Point Cemetery. The family will meet and visit with friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, May 15, 2009, at Grace Manor Funeral Home in Spiro, OK. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made in his honor to Harvest Hill Assembly of God Church. Donations may be left at the church or Grace Manor Funeral Home. All donations received will be applied to the funeral expense. Services under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home, Spiro, OK.
