Sherry Nell Welker, 54, of Spiro, OK, passed away June 1, 2009, in Spiro. She was born July 4, 1955 in Wagoner, OK, to John Sevier Jr. and Barbara Lee (Lawhorn) and was known as their “Little Fire Cracker”. Sherry was a housewife and a member of Harvest Hill Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her father John Sevier Jr., a brother John Michael Sevier and her grandfather Popo Lawhorn. Sherry is survived by her husband Harold Welker of the home; two sons Christopher Odell McGee and Samuel Matthew McGee both of Heavener, OK; a daughter Barbara Yvette Salazar of Heavener, OK; her parents Frank L. and Barbara Nunley of Spiro; grandmother Vera Lee Lawhorn of Broken Arrow, OK; three brother Brian Patrick Sevier of Paris, AR, Norman Roy Nunley of Spiro, OK, Frank Nunley II of Las Animas, CO; uncles and aunts, Jim and Henrietta Lawhorn of Broken Arrow, OK, Allen and Phillis Seaman of Wagoner, OK, Bud and Mary Howerton, Doris Marshall all of Spiro, OK and Fern Nunley of Bokoshe, OK; ten grandchildren; a host of niece, nephews, cousins and other family members, friends and loved ones. Pallbearers will be Taylor Sevier, Austin Sevier, Ryan Plemmons, John Davis, Jerry Bunch, and Brad Dedmon. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 4, 2009, at Harvest Hill Assembly of God Church, Spiro, OK, with Pastor Mike Bunch officiating. Interment will follow service at Fairview Cemetery, Panama, OK. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the family, Grace Manor Funeral Home or Harvest Hill Assembly of God Church to offset funeral expenses.
