Karen Sue Thornburg, 54, of Stapp-Zoe, OK, passed away July 28, 2009, at her home. She was born August 10, 1954, in Shady Point, OK, to Aaron Oris and Helen Sue (McCage) Parker. Karen Parker married Leonard Thornburg on June 15, 1974 in Carson City, NV. She was a member of Stapp-Zoe Baptist Church and was a very loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Karen is preceded in death by her father Aaron Oris Parker.
She is survived by her husband Leonard of the home, two sons, Leon Daniel Thornburg and wife Cheryl of Wister, OK, Robert Franklin Thornburg and wife Charissa of Katie, OK; two daughters, Kimberly Dawn Reames and husband Charles of Pauls Valley, OK, Jeanna Sue Lott and husband John of Zoe, OK; her mother Helen Parker of Ft. Smith, AR; a brother Danny Ray Parker of Sallisaw, OK; seven grandchildren, Amanda Thornburg, Ashli Williams, Trevor Barnett, Erika Reames, Sierra Thornburg, Levi Thornburg and Nikona Thomas; two great grandchildren, Maddison Thornburg and Kenna Rorabaugh, as well as a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
The family will hold a memorial service at 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 1, 2009, at the Stapp-Zoe Baptist Church. Direct cremation under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home of Poteau.
