Junun J. Thompson, 86, of Bokoshe, OK, formerly of Talihina, OK, passed away August 19, 2009 in Poteau, OK. He was born January 15, 1923 in Big Cedar, OK, to Robert Coe and Carrie (Jennings) Thompson. Junun married Ruth Bowling on July 22, 1950, in Lutie, OK. He was a retired butcher and baker for the V.A. Center in Talihina, OK. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bokoshe, OK, and an avid gardener. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Ruth of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Charles Tackett of Bokoshe, OK, a brothers and sister-in-laws, R.C. and Wanda Thompson of Dupond, Washington; three sisters, Nola Rouse of Krebbs, OK, Bernice Fryer of Erie, PA, Alta Lake of McAlester, OK; three grandchildren Jackie Gentry and husband Jason, Amy Tackett and Derrick Blaylock, Bethany Tackett all of Bokoshe, OK; one great grandchild Sarah Gentry; as well as numerous other friends, family members and loved ones. Pallbearers will be Bill Tackett, Steve Tackett, Randy Darneal, Larry Carver, Jim Smith and Bill Lafferty. Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, August 22, 2009, at the First Baptist Church in Bokoshe, OK, with Bro. Jerry Turner officiating. Interment will follow service at Nubbin Ridge Cemetery.
