Ambrose “Jack” Darden, 85, of Arkoma, OK, passed away August 22, 2009 in Pocola, OK. He was born January 28, 1924 in Cokehill, AR, to Monroe and Clemey (Parker) Darden. Jack married Barbara Cole on August 1, 1952, in Bentonville, AR. He was a retired metalologist for Davis Iron and Metal. He was of the Pentecostal faith, devoted father, loved to make people laugh and eat pizza no matter what topping. He is preceded in death by his parents, one son Larry Gene Darden; four brothers Henry Goldwyne Darden, Emmette Eugene Darden, Edward Eugene Darden, James Monroe Duke; two sisters Alice May Darden, Hattie Belle Bennett; a son-in-law Melvin Looper and four grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Barbara of the home; five sons Art Lee (Darden) Willet of Spiro, OK, Milton Monroe Darden of Arkoma, OK, David Earl Darden of Arkoma, OK, Steven Patrick Darden of Arkoma, OK, Clayton Ambrose Darden of Arkoma, OK; three daughters Beverly Ann Weese of Spiro, OK, Helen Margaret Looper of Pocola, OK, Alice Marie Ledford of Arkoma, OK, seventeen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and one on the way, three great great grandchildren; as well as numerous other friends, family members and loved ones. Pallbearers will be Dustin Sears, Kramer Ledford, Dewey Hundley, Chris Lasson and Rev. Rick Yarberro. Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 25, 2009, at the Pocola Christian Fellowship Church in Pocola, OK, with Rev. Stan Ledford and Rev. Wayne Hall officiating. Interment will follow service at Woodlawn Cemetery in Ft.
