Galen Ray Sanders, 66, of Poteau, OK, passed away Friday, October 2, 2009 in Tulsa, OK. He was born February 24, 1943 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Evelyn Hicks and Russell Sanders. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by four children Catlen Sanders, Ashley Sanders, Chris Smith and wife Sherri, Jason Smith and wife Victoria; one brother Jim Sanders and wife Tina; two sisters Lana Ruch and husband Lynn, Rosemary Brewington and husband Ray; step-mother Polly Sanders; grandchildren Danielle, Tiffany, Dustin and wife Jenna, Tristin, Aspen, and Brenna; one great granddaughter Jayden; “Husband in Law” Doc and wife Kathy Stone; and many other loving family and friends. Galen loved his family more than anything in the world and will be greatly missed. Viewing will be Monday with family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 6, 2009, at the Oak Valley Cemetery south of Lavaca, AR, with Bro. Jeff Little officiating. Interment will follow service at Oak Valley Cemetery.
