Luther Linuel Blair, of Heavener, Oklahoma, passed away on December 13, 2009, at the age of 97 years. Luther was born on July 3, 1912 to Claybourne Ohio and Effie Virden) Blair in Jenny Lind, AR. Luther married Dica (Poe-Whitecotton) on March 26, 1948 at Crawford County, Arkansas. He was a coal miner. Luther was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters, Connie Stewart and Demerris Hamblin; four brothers, J.C. Blair, Elvin Blair, Wesley Blair and William Blair, three sisters, Louise Rodden, Pearl Deleplank and Lucille Blair. He is survived by his wife of sixty one years, Dica Blair of Heavener, OK; two sons Tommy D. Blair and wife Sheri of Benton, AR and David J. Blair of Heavener, OK; three daughters, Joan Woody of Greenwood, AR, Debra Jane Fleig and husband William and Mona Lynn Adams all of Heavener; two brothers, Glenn Blair of Poteau, OK, Jim Blair of Oregon; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Pallbearers will be David Blair, William Fleig, Jr. and Micheal Crass. Service will be at 2:00 AM, Friday, December 18, 2009, at Grace Manor Memorial Chapel, Poteau, OK, with Bro. Phil Petre and Pastor Leroy Billy officiating. Viewing will be Wednesday and Thursday, from 8:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family has requested Gideon Bibles be purchased in his memory. Service and cremation under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home of Poteau.
