William E. “Bill” McLemore, 87, of Poteau, OK, passed away January 2, 2010, in Poteau, OK. He was born September 14, 1922, at Oklahoma City, OK, to William A. and Bessie E. (Nix) McLemore.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Lena McLemore, his parents, a sister Lucille Myers and a granddaughter Vonetta McLemore.
Bill is survived by two sons, Gary Don McLemore of Fayetteville, AR and William E. “Billy” McLemore Jr. of McCurtain, OK; a daughter Mary Kay Willmon and husband Benny of Carlsbad, NM; four grandchildren, Wade McLemore of Poteau, OK, Dustin McLemore and wife Stephanie of Spiro, OK, Kevin Willmon and wife Kendra of Artesia, NM, Stefanie Willmon of Carlsbad, NM; two great grand children, Aiden and Ava McLemore of Spiro, OK, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Gary McLemore, Billy McLemore, Marky McCullar, Benny Willmon, Paul Orr and Dustin McLemore.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 7, 2010, at the First Baptist Church in McCurtain, OK, with the Bro. John Bates officiating. Interment will follow service at Old Bokoshe Cemetery, Bokoshe, OK. Family will greet friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 6, 2010. Grace Manor Funeral Home of Poteau will be conducting the services.
