Rosa Lee Rogers, 89, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2010, in Tulsa. She was born Feb. 11, 1920, in Plainview, AR, to Myrtle (Cox) and Charlie Arthur Rollans. Rosa Lee graduated from Spiro High School in 1940. She lead an interesting life and worked in the shipyards in California, was taxi cab driver in Ft. Smith, AR; and later settled in Tulsa, OK where she was a resident for 51 years and retired from McDonnell Douglas Aircraft as a bookkeeper. At the age of two Rosa Lee discovered music and her beautiful voice touched many lives that crossed her path. She was a member of Victory Christian Center in Tulsa where she was a prayer warrior. She supported and loved the Christian Broadcasting Network. Later in life she lost her eye sight, with travel being limited, she recorded by tape and shared the history of her life with her loved ones. She is survived by her nieces; Anita Kay Garner of Spiro, OK , Debbie Foyil and husband Gene of Edmond, OK, Ann Baker of OKC, OK , Ruby Pearl Nelson and husband Stanley of Denton, TX., and Susan Pryor of Tulsa, OK; her nephews, Stephen Inge and wife Darlene of Las Vegas, NV, John David Inge of Seattle, Washington, Danny Clayton Inge and Allen Inge both of Poteau, OK Great Nieces, Kim Shaw of Spiro, April Burtmess of Edmond and Nina Showater of Tulsa; Great Nephews Randy Smith and wife Dana of Flower Mound , TX, Grant Pryor of Dallas, TX, Dustin Baker of OKC, OK, Dennis Foyil and Nathan Foyil both of Edmond, OK; her cousins, Harvey Eugene Cox of Tulsa, Hubert Cox of Panama, OK, and Don Parks and wife Joy, of Bonneville, AR; a few close friends from Tulsa, Mae Jean Bennett , Mary Lou Samples and Christy Johnson, also Georgiana Williams from Lincoln, Neb and a host of other family and friends. Pallbearers will be Gene Foyil, Steve Shaw, Dennis Owens, Nathan Foyil, Paul Collins, and Dennis Foyil. Honorary Pallbearers will be Eugene Cox and Don Parks. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 19, 2010, at Southside Worship in Spiro with Bro. Jeff Little and Bro. O.M. Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Spiro. Services are under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home of Spiro.
