  Harry Shanahan, 83, Poteau, OK, passed away March 7, 2010, in Poteau.  He was born August 31, 1926, in Lawton, OK, to John Joseph and Toy (Frazier) Shanahan. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the owner of Shanahan Finance in Poteau. Harry dedicated himself to taking care of his family including his mother who lived to be 100 years old. For his friends, Harry always had a smile, handshake or hug for anyone he met. Harry was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Lida Gail (Tobler) Shanahan, a brother Patty Lee Shanahan, a sister, Mary Jane Baker and a sister-in-law Elaine Shanahan. Harry is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Gloria Ann and Steve Cherry of Poteau; three grandchildren, Michael Shane Cooper of Poteau, John Randal Cooper and wife Jaime of Ft. Worth, TX, Dr. Angela Ann Cooper of Tulsa, OK; two great grandsons, Vincent and Andrew Cooper; a brother Pat Shanahan of Sioux City, Iowa; as well as a host of other family, friends and loved ones.   Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Poteau with the Father Valentine officiating. Interment will follow service at Oakland Cemetery, Poteau, OK. Rosary will be held Tuesday, March 9, at 6:30 PM, at Grace Manor Memorial Chapel.
